Four of Pentacles

Minor Arcana

Four of Pentacles

The Four of Pentacles shows a figure clutching one coin to the chest, standing on another, with two beneath the feet, holding tightly to all of it. The card speaks of security, holding on, and the fine line between safekeeping and clinging. It asks what your grip is costing you.

Upright

There is a wish for stability and a tendency to hold tight to what you have. Some of that is wise; some of it may be fear wearing the mask of prudence. Ask whether your grip is protecting you or quietly closing you off.

Reversed

Reversed, the holding can loosen, for relief or for loss, as you either release control or watch security slip. There can be generosity returning, or a fear of letting go intensifying. Notice what would change if you opened your hands a little.
