Minor Arcana
Four of Swords
The Four of Swords shows a figure lying in repose, hands folded, three swords above and one beneath, in the quiet of a sanctuary. The card speaks of rest, recovery, and the necessary pause after struggle. It is stillness chosen for healing, not defeat.
Upright
This is permission to rest and let the mind grow quiet after a difficult stretch. Recovery is not avoidance; it is what makes the next step possible. Allow yourself the silence that restores.
Reversed
Reversed, rest can become restlessness, burnout pushed past its limit, or a struggle to slow down even when the body asks. There may be a need to finally stop, or a stagnation that has lasted too long. Notice whether you are resting or simply unable to begin again.
