Major Arcana
The Devil
The Devil shows two figures chained before a shadowed presence, yet the chains hang loose enough to be slipped if they were only noticed. The card speaks of our bonds with desire, fear, guilt, pleasure, dependence, and power. It does not condemn the body; it reveals where the body has become a cage for lack of awareness.
Upright
Freedom begins by naming what has power over you, plainly and without shame. This may surface repeating patterns, temptations, or an inner pact made in the dark of wanting. The Devil loses its grip the moment something is looked at honestly.
Reversed
Reversed, the chain often begins to loosen, or there is resistance to admitting it is there at all. A binding pattern is becoming visible, and with it the chance of release. Ask which desire grows less dangerous once you can meet it face to face.
